Clinical practices

Equipment and premises compliance for clinical practices.

A practice carries a surprising amount of specialist equipment, each with its own testing, servicing and paperwork. We keep every item on one register and every renewal on time, alongside your practice manager.

The challenge

Specialist equipment is where the gaps appear.

Fire, electrics and water are familiar ground. The items that slip are usually specialist: an X-ray unit past its routine test, a pressure vessel missing from the written scheme, a defibrillator with expired pads, a radiation protection adviser appointment that quietly lapsed.

Practice managers handle these alongside rotas, patients and clinical governance. We take on the tracking, booking and checking, and report plainly on where things stand.

What we look after

Every premises requirement, on one register.

Radiation
Registration, adviser and supervisor appointments, routine equipment testing, local rules and servicing.
Pressure systems
Written schemes and examinations for compressors and autoclaves, with servicing and validation.
Decontamination equipment
Validation and servicing for autoclaves and washer disinfectors, with log completeness checks.
Water safety
Legionella risk assessment, outlet checks and dental unit waterline testing records.
Emergency equipment
Defibrillator and oxygen checks, with pad, battery and cylinder expiry dates.
Fire and electrical
Risk assessment actions, alarms, emergency lighting, fixed wiring and appliance testing.
Clinical equipment
Servicing and calibration for chairs, handpieces, fridges and diagnostic equipment.
Waste
Clinical, sharps and amalgam waste contracts, carrier licences and consignment notes.

How we handle it

The same four steps, for every item.

  1. 01

    One register

Every piece of equipment and every requirement, with its due date, evidence and open actions.

  2. 02

    Engineer visits

We book testing and servicing with your own engineers, around your clinical diary.

  3. 03

    Certificates

We check each report covers the right equipment, is in date and is issued by a competent person.

  4. 04

    Follow up

Recommendations and failures are tracked until there is evidence they are resolved.

In practice

What that looks like in practice

Your X-ray equipment test is due in March. We book it in January with the radiation physics service, confirm a slot that avoids a clinical day, check the report when it arrives and log its two recommendations against named owners. Your practice manager sees the outcome without having chased anyone.

We do not carry out testing or servicing, and we do not cover clinical compliance such as infection control audits, radiography audits, emergency drugs or clinical governance. Legal responsibility remains with the practice owner and registered manager.
